PeopleTalk: Ray Boshara
The spring 2007 PeopleTalk Speaker Series featured Ray Boshara, Vice President of the New America Foundation. He spoke about the importance of building assets and personal savings as a tool for addressing poverty and income insecurity. He challenged leaders in Central Texas to alleviate wealth disparity by issuing a savings account to every child born in the community. Mr. Boshara consulted with the United Kingdom to establish a similar program and is advocating for a nationwide children's savings account program here in the U.S.
