PeopleFund (formerly Austin CDC) receives a $836,000 Grant from the CDFI Fund
Congressman Lloyd Doggett presents the CDFI award to Executive Director Margo Weisz and PeopleFund Board Chair Eugene Sepulveda.
PeopleFund received an $836,000 grant to expand the loans and training programs we provide to entrepreneurs in low-income areas in Central Texas. The award was matched by $800,000 of funding from PeopleFund supporters. The grant will help create over 107 new jobs and provide an additional $500,000 in physical improvements in low-income neighborhoods.
Margo Weisz Awarded Social Entrepreneur of the Year

We would like to congratulate our Executive Director, Margo Weisz, for being awarded Social Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2004 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Margo was honored for her significant contributions in our community along with finalists Susan McDowell from LifeWorks and Walter Moreau from Foundation Communities. The Social Entrepreneur award is a new category for the competition and was accompanied by a $50,000 gift from the Silverton Foundation.
